Does anyone know if witch hazel has skin lightening properties?

No, witch hazel is an astringent. If you want a skin lightening property, use an acidic value. Such as lemon, lime, grapefruit and sometimes orange.

Low volume peroxide used continuously will eventually lighten, anything.

Does anyone know if witch hazel has skin lightening properties?
I do not believe so. I beleive it has skin soothing properties, but not lightening.
Reply:No it dosen't and besides skin bleachers aren't good for you cancer.
Reply:Not that I've heard, apparently it's good for cleaning and toning
Reply:witch hazel is an astringent, and will strip the oil off your skin and out of your pores... its not recommended if you already have dry or very sensitive skin, unless you dilute it with water.

clearasil blemish cream will lighten your skin because it contains a derivative of peroxide, which is a bleach.

any products with benzoyl peroxide (generally used to treat acne) will also lighten your skin, but can cause excessive dryness or irritation.

you can find creams (i think Palmer's has one) that are made specifically for skin lightening. they can usually be found at walmart, target, kmart, or the pharmacy in the lotion isle near cocoa butter and stretch mark cream.

be sure to read the labels!
