What causes skin to change colour...? 10 points!?

I used to have really fair skin but now especially have noticed in the past couple of months my skin has changed to an olive colour!

Its the Winter so I havent tanned or anything. The only time my skin is fair again is when I have a healthy diet my skin starts to glow and becomes lighter or sometimes on random days I wake up and its fair again. And then say the next day it goes back olive!!

Its driving me mad, I want fair skin not olive! And please dont say be happy with your skin etc. cos thats what people usually say.

So is their anything I can eat or do to keep my skin fair or go lighter? Without buying any skin lightening creams or stuff like that? AND also is milk a good way to lighten the skin?? THANKS SO MUCH! x

What causes skin to change colour...? 10 points!?
Changes to skin coloration can indicate various medical conditions. Whitening can occur due to infections or to loss of pigmentation such as in vitiligo. Paleness can indicate a variety of severe infections, either local or to the entire body. Redness can indicate a variety of possibilities including local skin inflammations. Blueness can indicate cyanosis such as from lack of circulation and can be very serious. Dark skin, darkening of the skin, or "hyperpigmentation" can occur due to various medical conditions. Any changes to skin coloration need medical investigation.

Soak your skin in milk or a mix of flour and milk (creating a paste that can be set on your face).

Combine milk, flour, lemon juice, a sunscreen with a high SPF, and a tiny bit of rubbing alcohol. If you have very fair skin you aren't going to want to try this. The lemon juice and rubbing alcohol can cause your skin to burn.

Stay in dark areas as much as you can -- cover your windows, turn the light off, and sit in your room. When going outside, don't stand directly in the sun, aim for the shade, and be sure to wear high SPF sunscreen.
Reply:The pigments in your skin!! i think lol %26lt;3333
Reply:haha it could be sunlight or just normal skin pigmentation. there are creams out there that can make our skin look more even maybe that might help like Garnier (spelling??)

hope i could help out
Reply:A skin pigment called melanin is responsible for your color and tone year around. Melanin reacts to variables such as exposure to the suns rays and pigments in the foods that you eat. It isn't uncommon for an infant to turn slightly orange from eating mushed carrots. Aside from a skin bronzer (which usually make you look very artificial) I don't believe that there is any topical treatment for your skin tone. It is slightly effected by the foods that you eat, and is seriously effected by your exposure to the sun. Hope this helps.
Reply:milk? lol. no milk will not make your skin lighter. you're probably just over reacting,,,, this sounds more like it's in your head than anything else, because THINK about it! your skin IS NOT going to continuously be changing colors! more likey it has to do with the lighting in your bathroom!
Reply:Ok its hard to explain. But, people have melanoma in their skin. When someone has sun hit their skin your melanoma rises and creates skin color. African American people have a lot of melanoma in their skin and have a natural spf so the don't have to wear sun screen. I heard of a natural thing to do to get your skin lighter. Here is URL that might help you..
