ok... 2 days ago my friend put spf 60 sunscreen on a small area on my arm. For that entire day i was wearing longsleeve shirt and longsleeve sweatter. Why is it that after i took a shower the spot where the sunscreen is lighter even though i was not out in the sun? It is still like that now.
Does sunscreen end up lightening skin?

Reply:sunscreen won't lighten skin.. spf 60 prevented tanning that particular spot.. clothes only have an equivalent of spf 5 level of sunblock, that's why.
Reply:Sunscreens usually contain zinc oxide or othe similar BLEACHING agents...you do the math...yep, a little lightening action. Just the nature of the ingredients.
