Are there any home remedies to lighten my skin tone?

I'm half asian and half white. I look more white then asian though. anyways. I have a tan but im really a fair skin tone. Do you have any home remedies, only, to lighten it to its regular color. I tan very easily by the way but im afriad it doesn't look very well on me. Have any ideas? and only Ideas. Don't tell me I'm crazy about lighten my skin, please.

Are there any home remedies to lighten my skin tone?
I wish that there was an easy (and safe) answer. There are products with hydroquinone but may be also taken off the market soon as their link to cancer. I actually have hyperpigmentation and had been looking for such a product as well and found that out. It seems that more 'skin brightening' products have vitamin c in the formula. I'm not sure if it's just the latest craze to supposedly work miracles :) but many products for brightening skin tone contain the vitamin c.

I did try (briefly ;) Dr. Wexler's skin brightening cream (which also has vitamin c), but due to my being so allergic to everything, I couldn't tolerate the light 'fragrance' albeit it not listed in ingredients as may have been from other 'natural' substances in the cream. The store took it back and gave me my cash back as I kept the receipt. Dr. Patricia Wexler sells her skin care products which include an acne line are right at bath and body works and from QVC (shopping station) www.qvc.com. And just as others have mentioned, Always wear sunscreen even if it is cloudy outside.
Reply:I don't know of any home remedy type products that will lighten skin. Sometimes the spa quality products are the best. For hyperpigmentation, Obagi is really the best. See here---

Reply:i don't think there is anyway of doing that...

but really, why would you want to LIGHTEN your skin??

people go crazy to get it tan!
Reply:bathe in hydrogen peroxide and aloe vera gelly. apply the jelly on a daily basis.
Reply:yeah, go find almond oil

it lightens your skin tone

it'll be like twenty days before you see your skin actually light

btw, i would stop when you like your color because with almond oil, if you keep doing it, it keeps lightening your skin so just stop using it when you like the way you look
Reply:use sunscreen everyday, the highest u can get, my dad was always with a tan and years ago he started using sunscreen numer 100 everyday and he is now very white
Reply:Skin lighteners have harsh, harsh chemicals in them so stay away from those products completely...plus they don't work very well. Let your tan fade naturally and just make sure to wear a good non -oil based sunscreen with SPF30+ in it so you don't tan while you are out.

If you are really concerned about it see a Dr. or plastic surgeon who will give you sound advice and recommendations and treatments if necessary.
Reply:If your skin color without a tan is OK, why not use sunscreen every day so that you won't tan? It works, and it will save you from sun damage, which leads to cancer and wrinkles.

That being said, if you still want to lighten your skin, try a product with hydroquinone in it (sold to lighten "age spots" or "liver spots," but it works even if you don't have those). I'm not sure if you would call that a home remedy, but it's the only thing I know of that has a chance of working.
Reply:u kno wat home remedies suck... ur gonna get tire of puttin oil and a whole bunch of other things on ur skin so just dont expose ur skin to the sun and that tan will go away for sure... and remember to always use sunscreen no matter what
Reply:There's no healthy way to lighten skin unless you consider bleaching healthy. Are you trying to follow in Michael Jackson's steps?

Listen, embrace the skin color you have. People sit in the sun for HOURS to get darker skin.
Reply:You can try these home remedies:

Mix 1 table spoon of milk powder, 1 table spoon of honey, 1 table spoon of lemon juice, and ½ table spoon of almond oil. Apply on face and wash off after 10-15 minutes. This pack helps bring shine to the skin and also removes tan.

Mix oatmeal with curd and tomato juice and apply on the face. Keep it on for 20 minutes and then wash it off with cold water. It helps remove the tan and lightens the skin.

Place sliced raw potato on the face. It helps reduce blemishes and other marks.

Applying turmeric powder along with lime juice removes the tan. Lime juice is natural bleach.

Dried orange peels mixed with curd also help reduce blemishes and scars. Wash off this mixture with cold water after 15 minutes.

Soak 4 almonds overnight. Grind into a fine paste using milk. Apply on face and neck and leave it overnight. Wash with cold water in the morning. Do this daily for 15 days, followed by twice a week.

A table spoon of gram flour mixed with 2 table spoon of raw milk and 2-3 drops of lime juice works well for lightening dark skin. Apply this mixture and leave it for 15 minutes before washing off. Repeat for 4 weeks and follow up with once a week.

Apply a paste of fresh ground mint leaves and leave it for about 20 minutes. Wash with cold water, continue for 15 days.

Apply a mixture of grated tomato with 2-3 drops of lime juice on the face. Leave it for 20 minutes before washing off. Do this twice a day for 15-20 days for best results.
