How did Lil Kim lighten her skin color?

I am doing a research paper about cultures that practice skin bleaching. I want to tie in some examples from the U.S. and I am using micheal jackson and Lil Kim. The problem is that I cannot find any specific information about how exactly lil kim lightened her skin. I need to know what she used or what she did and possibly what kind of doctor performed it. I need to know was it a cream, pills or whatever she did to make her skin color lighter. I need good accurate sources for this paper, something that has real proof and not simply an opinion. If anyone actually knows this info, please let me know how it is done. Once again, this is for my college research paper and it is a topic my professor and I have discussed. any help would be greatly appreciated.

Lil Kim hasnt actually lightnened her skin at all... if you look at her 1996 photos from when she first came out, she was very light skinned much like today.... what you're thinking about is the lil kim of around 1999-2003 when she wore her platinum colored wigs and looked alot darker... this was because at the time she was doing alot of performances outdoors and she, like most african americans, gets darker during the summer. Kim's complexion is the same now as it has always been... lightning is one factor that you have to consider. The strength of the light in the studio will make her look lighter than she actually is as well as makeup. For example, on the cover of her album "the naked truth" lil kim is very light, almose pale, yet on her vh1 performance this past October, she wasnt quite as light.





So for your research paper, I'd suggest citing the photagraphers light strength to coincide with the era of pop culture...

**Observation: in 1997 Lil kim was doing alot of summer press for her 1st album which was when the Not tonite remix (Ladies Night) song came out... Missy, Angie Martinez, and Lil Kim all appeared to be alot darker that summer... but it could just be because they performed that song so many times in the outdoors under all that sunshine.
