Does rubbing lemon on your skin help lighten your skin from a tan?

i orginally had white skin and after i came from the beach i got really dark! I have waited for 3 years for this thing and its not coming off! I heard of the lemon thing...does it work?

Does rubbing lemon on your skin help lighten your skin from a tan?
The bleaching effect from lemon juice is limited and may only serve to dry out your skin. You may want to consult a Dermatologist about this. There may be more here than meets the eye.
Reply:No, it doesn't work. The nurse is right. The acid in the lemon will only dry out your skin. Tanning is bad for you, you know that. The tan will fade over the winter, but every time you tan, your skin suffers damage. It will never go back to what it was.
Reply:Sorry but rubbing lemon or your skin wont really help to reduce the browning but it will help to tone your skin, you may want to see a medical physician about your problem; you may also want to use lighting cream, and try to avoid the sun for a while, tanning really isn't good for you and though everyone wants to be brown its not healthy unless your born with that natural skin color or tone.
Reply:I've never heard of the lemon thing myself. I know people put lemon juice in their hair to naturally lighten it but I never heard that it works on skin. But go to any beauty mart or even walmart and they sell loads of creams that lighten your skin. Just make sure if you use bleach cream to use a SPF 15 or higher sunblock because the bleach cream makes your skin more sun sensitive.

If you want to try something more natural try pure aloe vera. It doesn't lighten your skin as much help to exfoliate your skin and shed the dark upper layers and reveal the lighter skin underneath.
