ive been asking how to lighten my skin because ive been spendong a lot of time in the sun. and ive been getting a lot of answers that i can bathe in lemon juice to lighten my skin. i havent been sure if i should use it until i was use its safe. so can anyone please tell me if it is and if there are any risks or things that can go wrong! if so can u also tell me if there are any other ways to lighten my skin?
Are there any risks in using lemon juice to lighten the skin?
lemon juice probably isnt going to work..the most it will probably do is burn the hell out of it (if you have any cuts) and dry it out.
Try exfoliating you skin regularly, this will remove the dead skin cells. After time, the new skin will come through and you wont be as dark. Until then, use high spf sun screen to avoid further tanning.
Reply:well i don't know but i don't think that there are any risks but if u try it don't put lemon on your skin if its open or its bleeding %26gt;after a cut%26lt; but yeah try it
Reply:Ok use lemon juice to lighten up your skin, but only for 10 minutes a day, not more than that because your skin will turn red. I hope it works!!!
Reply:i dont think there's any risks bc its all natural but the only thing i heard about lemon juice is that ppl use it to even out their spray tans
Reply:i honestly don't think lemon juice can lighten your skin, because skin pigments are pretty deep within our skin, and bathing in lemon juice is just superficial.. and i don't think it'll penetrate your skin that deeply. Anyways, the only proven skin whitener is hydroquinone. I might have spelled that wrong. But hydroquinone is really bad for your health, and its getting banned soon by the FDA, I believe. For the time being, you can buy it at any drugstore. Dermatologists say its good for skin whitening but it may cause problems in your health. I wouldn't use it just because I think health is more important than white skin.
Reply:Honestly I have never heard of using lemon juice to lighten the skin. I have heard that lemon juice is good to use to lighten the hair if you want blonde highlights while sitting out in the sun.
You can prevent yourself from getting any more of a tan is to spend less time out in the sunlight. If that is not possible, use tons of sunscreen. Exfoliating the skin with an exfoliating scrub once a week is good for shedding off the older top layer of skin that is a little darker. And revealing smoother, newer skin from underneath.
Hope this helps!! :)
Reply:It'll dry up your skin. But a better solution would be a facial "toner." They try to balance out the skin by lightening it all over.
Reply:do not waste money in buying lemons for getting fairer complexion since it doesnt work at all. my sis used it for more than a month...all she saw was the softness, but no lightened skin.
Reply:since it's unanimous that lemon juice isn't the real answer to lightening your skin, you might wanna take a look at this link -

A good product to lighten my skin?
I scar easily and when i do its dark...anyone found a good product that lightens my skin.....
A good product to lighten my skin?
You can cover it by using foundation. You can find them at any local retail stores, make-up sections. Revlon is what I would suggest for a good foundation. But if you can afford higher, then definitely Macy's, there are lots of different brands to select from. %26amp; The saleswomen there will help you with what you need
Reply:dip yourself in milk.
Reply:I know a product that can do it but you'll have to go to a black beauty supply store to get it. It's called "fair and white exclusive" there's 2 kinds but the exclusive is better, stronger and produces results faster. It's fairly cheap too. The exclusive is in a blue box, now you'll need both the soap and the gel(cream). You can get each from $10.99 to 13.99 depending on the store. The area you apply it to might start to peel a little but that's OK, it's the dark area been cleared out. They smell very nice also so you won't have to worry about some smelly, nasty product.
Good luck and I hope you can get it.
Reply:A safe lightener is hydrogen peroxide, apply daily like a rinse.

How does one bleach or lighten their skin?
I want to lighten my skin tone, but I don't want to end up hurting my skin.
Please give answers that will actually help me, don't tell me it's stupid and that I shouldn't do it, because I WANT to, okay?
Please and thanks.
How does one bleach or lighten their skin?
There is no way to lighten your skin,I really dont that dermatologist will do this for you or a plastic surgeon will
I think really you have to look in the mirror and really figure out why you would want you skin lighter it's not a cosmetic procedure to have something done to your self like that. I think that all skin colors are tones are beautiful and that you should love yourself

Im looking for a way to lighten my already pale skin and take out the blotchiness so I look milky white.?
I have pale skin and i was looking for a way for it to look naturally milky white like some of the models on the hot topic wibe site.My skin is uneven in color and all i can seem to find is makeup that is like halloween makeup and is awfully fake looking. Is there someway to lighten my skin and get the blotchiness out.I want skin that looks like Dita Von Teese's.Without looking like a zombie.

Pour bleach all over yourself and hold your breath for 20 minutes. That should do.

Reply:Do invest %26amp; ingest antioxidants. 'Antioxidants' is a huge word in aging prevention. A huge proponent of antioxidants (found in green teas %26amp; beta carotene) is dermatologist Leslie Baumann, MD. To get the best possible protection against free-radical damage, Baumann suggests in Elle magazine that you take both oral %26amp; topical antioxidants. Get antioxidants in pill form by taking Heliocare vitamins.
Do exfoliate once a week. Choose a formulation that's best for your skin type. Chemical exfoliators (glycolic or salicylic acid) are best for oily or combo skin, while scrubs found in microdermabrasives work best for sensitive skin. Some tried-and-true products we love include Dr. Brandt Microdermabrasion in a Jar
Do use an AHA or BHA (also known as retinols) every day. A daily application of a one percent prescription retinoid lotion (such as Retin-A or even better, Tazorac) can erase years from your face. AHAs used properly not only take off lots of dead skin, but can seem to take 10 years off as well by reducing fine lines. (Keep in mind these products do NOT shrink pores. Your pore size is completely hereditary, so don't believe promises of permanent reduction). Over-the-counter options such as RoC Deep Wrinkle Night Cream (see compare link below to buy) are good, but prescription creams work the best. Extra tip: You must stay out of the sun if you use retinoids. You are extra-susceptible to sunburns.
Do stop smoking. Ever notice the skin of a lifelong smoker? It can appear wrinkly like a squashed paper bag.
The fact is, smoking is the 2nd biggest cause of skin damage after sun exposure. Why? Nicotine constricts blood vessels %26amp; decreases the flow of oxygen to the skin. Not good things.
A GREAT METHOD IS USING WHOLE MILK AND SMASHING AN AVOCADO INTO A BOWL MIX WELL TILL THICK AND STICKY THEN APPLY TO FACE WHEN ABOUT TO GO TO BED WORKS GREAT!
Reply:Use skin lightning and illuminating products. Brands like Dior, Clarins, Clinique, Elizabeth Arden, The Body Shop have products designed to fade blemishes and even the skin tone.
Reply:there are ton of lightening creams at stores and on the net. Best to use something natural that doesnt have harsh chemicals. I've used the cream from http://www.whiterskin.com and it has done the job well. Its a bit pricey so you might also want to check your local store for "fade creams" which go for about $10.

Why do people tan or lighten their skin?
Some people make it a big deal if someone lightens their skin. But if someone tans their skin, some people dont make it a big deal. Why is that?
Why do people tan or lighten their skin?
Probably for the same reason that light people try to get tan. Everyone wants to be what they're not.
Reply:because we all want to be or have something we are not or don't have.
Reply:I think people think that being tan atracts mates but i say that it atracts lobsters cause u will look like 1
Reply:I keep a mild tan for health reasons actually. I have to spend a LOT of time outside during the summers as an entertainer. I am VERY allergic to sun block. If I didn't keep a tan I would burn to a crisp. Burning puts you at an insanely high risk for skin cancer. Mild tanning really doesn't if you do it RIGHT.
Reply:It is because of how beauty is perceived in the society we grew up in.
For example, I grew up in an Indian neighborhood where everyone loves white skin. So I sometimes get tempted to lighten my skin.
Reply:I personnaly don't understand people who lighten their skin. It means to me that the light colour is better than the black one. They suffer from the complex of inferiority or there are racist without realising it.
Do tanners also want to resemble non light skin people.
Humans are never satisfied!
Reply:The reason people usually make a big deal when someone tries to lighten their skin ( esp if they are black) is because of the stigma caused by attitude towards skin color. People have the mistaken belief that they will be treated better with lighter skin ( better looking, smarter..)... So people think you're feeling somewhat inferior.
The other way around doesn't have that stigma.
It's sad anyway.
Reply:people who tan are trying to be something they are not...and because its socialbly acceptable.. and the society seems to rule the way you look...
Reply:Because people see so many people around them being and wanting to be tan. People are affected by the opinions of other people. And if someone wanted to be lighter it would seem different than everyone else, making it 'weird'
Reply:because tanning is so common now...and lightening your skin is a different look and you dont really hear of many people lightening their skin, but there are tanning beds all over the place and its just so common.
Reply:I think it's because tanning is something that happens naturally, whereas, lightening your skin is not
Reply:no one is ever satisfied with anything, live long enough, you will see this.
Reply:I like to tan ONLY my legs cause I am very white and it makes my legs look nicer when I wear shorts. Also I was tired of the rude comments about my white legs.

I am very dark skinned, I would like to lighten my skin with a product thats not to expensive, like over $25.?
I am very dark skinned. When I was born I was very light. But then I started going to summer camps and we were always in the sun so I became very dark. I would like a way to lighten my skin with an inexpensive product like something under $25. I really would like to be light again. So if you have any solutions to my problem please e-mail me at luv4u0501@yahoo.com

My mom works for Elizabeth Arden and she is also dark skinned. She usually uses bronzing powder or cream cover-up. Sometimes the cover-up can get heavy so I would suggest using bronzer or some type of concealer.

How do I lighten my sunburned skin?
I got a pretty bad sunburn and I am looking for NATURAL remedies to lighten my skin to its original state. I am indian, if that helps.
How do I lighten my sunburned skin?
I know for a fact that drinking lots of milk will naturally lighten your skin. It doesn't matter if its chocolate milk or strawberry milk or just plain, as long as its milk it will help you. Spend less time in the sun as well.
I'm in this situation too, and I'm Indian as well. The remedy is working well so far, so go ahead and try it. Good luck!

P.S. I DIDNT KNOW INJANS COULD SUNBURN?
Reply:You might be able to use a green tinted concealer or foundation. This will conteract the redness.
